Big trip coming up next week. Longest I’ve taken in 30 years, almost exactly to the day actually.

I’m unplugging

Shedding

Stripping

Surrendering

No rigid itinerary I’m pointing to a destination and heading that way.

No trailer to pull

No roof top tent to pop up in tight places.

I bought this camper specifically for this moment. To blend in with my surroundings. Nomading my way place to place. I may stay two days in one spot or plop all week. This trip is pure exploration and peace.

I bought a flip phone for emergency calls and texting work orders. I bought a Bluetooth cd player for music.

I’m filled with some excitable anxiety. Erasing some comfort zones. I’m gonna disappear into the void for a bit.

I plan on keeping my voice silent. My words will be chosen carefully. There will be uncomfortable moments of silence. Hard times with fasting.

Erasing some loops and patterns Velcro’d to my soul.

A side quest from my past reckoning.

A Cleanse

There will be no expectations other than the journey itself. All of my previous trips have built up to this one.

My plans?

Take the trip.

Follow the little light in my head

Read the trail markers

Adapt as intended

It’s not a find myself thing. I found him not so long ago.

It’s a curating.

I found him. Now I need to get to know him better. Quality time.

I want to look in the mirror when I get back and say “there he is!”

I’m excitedly terrified. If that makes sense. Like your first sky diving experience. No you’ll never catch me doing that shit.

I’m 8 days away man. I’ve talked about this trip for over a year. I have not made one single plan. As intended.

“Where you gonna go Chad?”

“What you gonna do Chad?”

I’ll tell you when I get back.

Maybe.

Cheers
